Description |
Ceremonial silver key made by Hendry & Co. of Birmingham, England presented to Miss Rankin (d. 1948) on the opening of Rankin Hospital by the Burgh of Greenock Corporation. The top of the key has a coat of arms and legend and is hallmarked. At the bottom are the letters RMH. The key is held in a leather, silk lined, presentation case. The key carries the inscriptions: 'Presented to Miss Rankin by the Corporation of Greenock on the occasion of the opening of the Rankin Memorial Hospitals 17th August, 1938' on the reverse 'MRD'. |
