Description |
A mid nineteenth century large ceramic ashet or serving plate manufactured by the Clyde Pottery of Greenock. Decorated in blue with the 'Asiatic Pheasants' pattern. On the underside a blue transfer mark 'Asiatic Pheasants C.P.Co.Ld.' The copper plates of this very well known design were acquired by very many British potteries in the mid-1800s. The Clyde Pottery was no exception. Purchased with grant-aid from the National Fund for Acquisitions. |
