Description |
A Queen Mary Scottish Billon Bawbie, dating from the period 1542-1567, discovered as part of the Greenock Coin Hoard. The Bawbee was valued at sixpence and was made of billon, a metal containing 25% silver. The coin had originally been introduced during the reign of James V in 1538. |
