Copper line engraving on paper entitled 'Port Glasgow from the South East' engraved and printed by Joseph Swan (1796 Glasgow - 1872 Glasgow), from an original study by the Greenock artist John Fleming (1792 Glasgow - 1845 Greenock). The print shows a view of Port Glasgow from the east with figures in foreground and tree on left. The engraving was reproduced in Swan's "Strathclutha or The Beauties of the Clyde and and appeared again in "Select Views on the River Clyde" (1830). |
