Watercolour painting on paper entitled 'William Murdock's House' by Paul Braddon (1864 Birmingham - 1937 Croydon). Signed 'Paul Braddon' by the artist at the lower right. The painting was probably painted in the early twentieth century. It is one a series of watercolour paintings showing scenes from the life of James Watt (1736-1819). This work shows a view of the house of William Murdock (1754-1839), engineer and Inventor. A two storey house set in gardens with a forest or woodland behind. A female figure is walking up the drive. |
