Political cartoon drawing in pen and ink on paper by William Niven (1890 Greenock - 1947 Greenock). Undated and untitled by the artist. Signed at the lower right 'WN'. The subject shows a jungle scene with a camp site centre, the male camper figure is holding a microphone and is being hoisted aloft by an elephant. Other animals present include a rhino, lion, monkey, snake and crocodiles. Intended for publication as a cartoon for The Bulletin and Scots Pictorial newspaper which was published in Glasgow between 1913 and 1960. |
