Description |
Nineteenth century Japanese tobacco pouch or 'tabako-ire' with pipe and netsuke. Two black leather pouches, one for tobacco and one for the pipe with chain and netsuke attached together. The tobacco pouch has a shibuichi lock plate overlaid with red and gold lacquer. Signed by the artist. Chain made of silver with a large ivory Manju or 'ricecake' netsuke decorated with a carved fish on the surface. Netsuke by Ushiwaka. Pipe made of silver and bamboo. |
